M12 connectors are widely used in modern railway systems.
Different coding types (A-code, D-code, X-code) define pin layouts and serve specific signal, data, or power transmission needs:

  • A-code (4, 5, 8 pins) – For sensors (temperature, speed), actuators, DC power, and low-voltage signals.

  • D-code (4 pins) – For Industrial Ethernet, onboard IP cameras, and passenger information systems (Fast Ethernet, 100 Mb/s).

  • X-code (8 pins) – Designed for high-speed Ethernet up to 10 Gb/s, supporting backbone networks, HD video surveillance, and infotainment systems with full EMI shielding.
